LIVIA BLANC

Born in the south of France and raised in Tahiti, the Brooklyn-based French singer released her debut singles “Amour Amour” and “Mr Hyde” in 2017. Swimming in a dreamy sonic world that pulls reference from French icons, Brigitte Bardot and Francoise Hardy, LIVIA opens her heart, singing about pain, gain and seduction in the game of love.

2017 saw LIVIA release her first music video for her single ‘Amour Amour’ starring NARCOS and BROAD CITY actor ARTURO CASTRO. As well as landing a global advertising campaign with giving her voice to the new GIGI HADID commercial for her Jetsetter travel makeup palette in collaboration with Maybelline New York.

2018 promises a lot more where that came from with her debut EP set to be released in Spring 2018, a collection of love letters, spoken with simple and disconcerting sincerity, sung in her native French.

New single “Chocolat Café Passion” sees LIVIA kick off 2018 with a more upbeat, summer-tinged jam, sprinkling some Côte d’Azur sunshine into the winter months. It is an addictive addition to your winter playlist and will have you singing along in French before the end of your first listen

STANDARDSOUND & ANNIE O. MUSIC PRESENT LIVIA BLANC

We have a secret weapon at The Standard, and it comes in the form of a French-Moroccan music maven named Annie O. After years in the music industry representing such greats as Lou Reed, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Pearl Jam, and Peter Gabriel, we nabbed her to curate The Annie O Music Series, a regular concert series in the airy Penthouse of The Standard, East Village.

On Monday, January 8th, Annie O brings a fellow Frenchy, Brooklyn-based singer Livia Blanc, to the Penthouse for an intimate night of 1960s nostalgia. In 2017, she grabbed attention with her first music video and singles, and she's poised to have a breakout 2018.  Get to know her before the big night through her interview with Annie O below.

June 23rd - Come support 'Play like a Girl' @ the sheen center an discover amazing female artist. The future is female and I am gurl alright!!

POPS Media presents PLAY LIKE A GIRL, a special one night concert featuring some of the most exciting indie female acts in NYC. Come join us for a night at the Loreto Theater to celebrate these talented leading ladies who rock, play real instruments, and put on one hell of a show!

Venue webpage link: https://sheencenter.org/shows/girl/

Ticketing link: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/975060

There is a wonder girl in all of us, come celebrate your inner music goddess! You too ladies !

The night will be packed with a diverse group of talent. To start, we'll hear Amalia Watty. Amalia’s refreshing, organic quality drew Los Angeles based producer/ songwriter Jamie Houston’s attention (Steven Tyler, Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Macy Grey). Amalia is from Anguilla in the Caribbean. She's an island girl who didn't swim, a tomboy who loved to climb white cedar trees. She woke naturally with the rooster's sound, roaming through farmland and forests, singing as she gathered her own lemongrass leaves for bush tea.

Then we'll see a special performance from Livia Blanc from France, who just released her debut single, "Amour Amour".

Livia works in television and film but is also a insanely talented vocalist and writer who will stepping into the spotlight for the first time since the release of her single!

We'll also hear from Liz Asaro, New York City-based singer/songwriter who has a sound that features rugged guitars that complement the urgency of her vocals. She has been working and touring with members of David Bowie's touring band!

Misia Vessio  will then take the stage and promises to bring surprises to the audience! Born and raised in New York City, Misia Vessio shines through the melting pot with her musicianship, ambitions and dreams. As a drummer/percussionist and singer/songwriter, Misia is a rising musician continuing to make a positive impact on the world.

To close out the night, we'll get to see The NYChillharmonic, a 22 piece orchestra led by composer and leading lady, Sara McDonald. Sara writes and arranges all of the music for this indie-rock-electronic-jazz hybrid ensemble as well as directs it. She also sings and plays keyboards with the band. Not only has the group been playing all over NYC for the last year and a half, but Sara has also taken the music to The Moers Festival in Germany, and to the Millenium Stage at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. This really isn't your typical big band; not what most would consider "jazz." However, the music spans many genres and does not feel tied down to any single one in particular.
