Livia was born in Marseille, France and raised in Tahiti. She currently resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Swimming in a dreamy sonic world that pulls reference from French icons, Brigitte Bardot and Françoise Hardy, recording artist LIVIA BLANC opens her heart, singing about pain, gain and seduction in the game of love.
The Brooklyn-based French artist burst onto the scene in 2017 with her debut singles “Amour Amour,” “Black Orpheus” and “Mr Hyde.” That same year, Livia’s singing voice was featured in the national television ad campaign for the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline New York make-up collection.
Her debut EP, “Amour Amour” (2018) is a five-song collection of love letters, infused with simple and disconcerting sincerity, and sung in her native French tongue. The EP was produced and co-written with Coyle Girelli and Andrew Horowitz (notable artist projects include Tally Hall, Jidenna and John Legend).
Livia wrote her first English-language single, “I Belong to You” for the independent feature film, In Reality, directed by Ann Lupo, which premiered at The Sundance Institute in 2019. Livia later produced and directed herself in the accompanying music video as an ode to love, released on Valentine’s Day 2020.
As a visual artist and filmmaker, Livia’s photography work was featured in a solo exhibit for the famed Galerie Mourlot in New York City.
Livia has performed at established New York City venues such as Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, Knitting Factory, Sofar Sounds and The Annie O. Music Series at The Standard Hotel.
Now Livia Blanc is releasing several celestial epics from her upcoming EP “The Kiss Of Andromeda” (Honey Lemon Records) : “Celestine”, “Tahiti” and a French take on TRex 1998 ‘Cosmic Dancer’. Next up, Livia will release the last single from her upcoming EP “le Loup”.
“Le Baiser D’Andromède” (slated for release later 2022) will feature a vintage synth-pop and cosmic disco sound and a music aesthetic representing a newfound exploration of freedom, sensuality and femininity.
